Visit our Careers website to learn more about careers at Applied.Key ResponsibilitiesIndependently, develops and implements opto-mechanical concepts high performance imaging and/or illumination optics, including tolerancing, alignment and automated mechanismsTechnically lead and/or execute engineering projects and spearhead research and development of new technologies, as appropriateProblem identification and troubleshooting a wide range of significantly complex engineering problemsSpecify or perform significantly complex engineering analysisInterface with internal and external customers regarding significantly complex engineering issues to address customers High Value Problems (HVP) for a range of productsGenerate product specifications. Define, coordinate, perform, and document engineering tests.Specify the development, design, or modify engineering layouts/schematics and/or detailed drawings/specifications of -significantly complex scopeSpecify and review engineering documentation and engineering processesQualificationsBS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or related fieldsMinimum 10 years of experience in the mechanical design fieldProficient in opto-mechanical, precision mechanical and mechanism design and familiar with high precision optical design implementationsExperienced with 3D CAD such as Solidworks or Inventor, and FEA for static and dynamic analysis, CFD for flow analysisFunctional Knowledge
