JOB SUMMARY The Operating Room Registered Nurse independently plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care in patient care situations using standards of care and policy and procedure. Provides direct nursing care to patients, assumes teaching and leadership responsibilities, and participates in unit committee and quality improvement activities. • Locate and document medical and nursing patient care information
• Utilize appropriate interview techniques to obtain patient history
• Deliver patient care and treatment using problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Administer medication safely and accurately
• Evaluate outcomes of care to determine if patient needs were met
• Report to oncoming shift the care that should be provided and/or needs that have yet to be addressed
• Attend courses and in-services offered to maintain clinical skills
• Serve as a preceptor for new employees, coworkers, and students
• Maintain communication with patient family/significant other
• Rotational on-call responsibilities EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the State of Florida
  • One year of recent OR experience is required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) certifications required
  • Intermediate computer knowledge
